Sangha life is very vivid with many activities. During the past week, there was a Sikshamana precept transmission, a path renovated by monastic brothers and an online mindfulness day for families of monastics. We would like to share with you some photos of these events.
Sikshamana Transmission Ceremony
In Buddhist tradition, after two years of ordination, nuns will receive Sikshamana precepts to continue their training as a monastic. Recently, in Plum Village, three sisters were very happy to receive these precepts.
Newly renovated path in Upper Hamlet
Thich Nhat Hanh, our teacher once said that Plum Village is like a university where you can learn many things if you wish. We can see this very clearly when witnessing our brothers in Upper Hamlet building a path to the forest. Let us enjoy some photos of these moments.
Online Mindfulness Day for families of monastics
Due to the pandemic, the monastics and their families can not visit each other as usual, therefore we organised a day of mindfulness for the families of monastics. There was a Dharma talk about monastic life so that the families could understand more about the path chosen by their loved ones. We also had a nourishing sharing session between monastics and their families. We hope we will have more opportunities like this to practice together with our loved ones.
Hello Daddy, Mommy,… Happiness of seeing our parents from far away. Translation to Chinese for their families Such a great joy to be together because we haven’t seen our relatives for a long time. Br. Thien Chi is very happy to have his mom by his side. An aspirant talking online to his family. Hope to see Daddy, Mommy and our relatives soon!

This is because the whole community has been closed to the public and have been living in confinement since March 2020 and therefore the risk of transmitting the Covid virus to each other is very low.
